📽 Films announced for Winter 2026 series
cinéSARNIA has been attending various film festivals this fall and have selected some fabulous films for you in the coming year. Three of our choices have confirmed dates now, and the remaining three will be announced later in the new year.
Check out the following links for our January and February features:

Eleanor The Great
Eleanor The Great - January 11 & 12
📽 This time last December, we brought you the delightful June Squibb as “Thelma”, the senior who got scammed out of her money and “scootered her way” to get it back.
This time June is “Eleanor” an aged transplant into New York who seeks connection by the stories she weaves and the people she captivates. Directed by Scarlett Johansson.

Sentimental Value
Sentimental Value - January 25 & 26
📽 Stellan Skarsgård stars as a once prominent film director who hopes to recapture his successful career by writing a film specifically for his daughter, who has been estranged from him. The content hits a little too close to home. Beautifully cast and an emotional powerhouse, it won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Librarians (documentary)
The Librarians - February 8 & 9
📽 “America’s war on books is more than a war of words”.
A group of courageous librarians across the United States band together to defend intellectual freedom from book banning in this current world. This impactful documentary has been generously sponsored by The Book Keeper.

DJ Ahmet
Showings:
Sunday, December 7 @ 2 pm
Monday, December 8 @ 7 pm
A vibrant North Macedonian drama about a young man torn between his passion for music and the pressures of tradition, set against the beat of a changing culture.
You should also catch these films,
before they are gone!
Some films, that had come to various film festivals, we would like to bring you but do come to other theatres first. Here are a few I noticed that you shouldn’t miss this week, showing at the Cineplex Galaxy Cinemas Sarnia :
Rental Family - Its last day is tomorrow - 4:00 pm and 6:45 pm
Hamnet - It should open this Friday
📽🎟☕ After Film Discussion “Culture Club”
Many of our subscribers are enjoying the opportunity to chat about the films they’ve seen at cinéSARNIA while savouring a coffee and pastry at Coffee Culture. With your pass or ticket, you will also receive a 15% discount. As an added bonus on Monday night, some of the remaining pastries baked that day were on sale after 9 pm for ONE DOLLAR!
I encourage everyone to drop in following (or preceding) the film and have a time to chat with fellow cinephiles. Maybe some of our committee will be there too.
We did have a lively discussion after our last film “The Life of Chuck” where some of the imagery was revealed.
